About Bansa

Dedicated to excellence in air navigation services across the beautiful Bahamas
archipelago

Our Values

We value professionalism, teamwork, and diversity, and are committed to attracting, developing, and retaining top talent. By embracing innovation and technology, we strive to provide safe and reliable air navigation services while consistently pursuing excellence. We identify and reward performance to ensure that our people and our organization continue to grow and succeed together.

Our History

BANSA was established on February 21, 2021, as an autonomous air navigation service provider under the Bahamas Air Navigation Services Authority Act, 2021. Previously, air navigation services were managed by the Bahamas Air Navigation Services Division (BANSD), part of the Civil Aviation Authority of The Bahamas, and before that, the Civil Aviation Department. BANSA’s creation aligned with ICAO guidelines, which recommend separating regulators from service providers to avoid conflicts of interest and strengthen confidence in the system.

Our People

As of June 30, 2022, BANSA had 158 employees—comprising air traffic controllers, electric technicians, administrative and finance staff, and executive management.

Our Mission

We are committed to providing air navigation services that are safe, efficient, and responsive—ensuring that every flight across our airspace is guided with precision, reliability, and care. By combining advanced technology with a highly skilled team, we strive to deliver seamless operations that support the aviation community, foster trust, and contribute to the continued growth and connectivity of The Bahamas and beyond.

Our Vision

We strive to become a global leader in delivering safe, reliable, and sustainable air navigation services—setting new standards of excellence in aviation. Through innovation, collaboration, and an unwavering commitment to safety and sustainability, we aim to strengthen international connectivity, inspire confidence in the skies, and contribute to the advancement of global air transportation.

Our Company

The Bahamas Air Navigation Services Authority (BANSA) is the premier provider of air navigation services throughout the Commonwealth of The Bahamas. Established to uphold the highest standards of aviation safety and efficiency, BANSA manages and coordinates all air traffic movements across our beautiful archipelago. Our key priority is to provide safe, reliable, and efficient air navigation services that meet the needs of all airspace users while supporting the growth and sustainability of aviation in The Bahamas.
